“It’s funny. When you leave your home and wander really far, you always think, ‘I want to go home.’ But then you come home, and of course it’s not the same. You can’t live with it, you can’t live away from it. And it seems like from then on there’s always this yearning for some place that doesn’t exist. I felt that. Still do. I’m never completely at home anywhere.”

― Danzy Senna, Colored Television

What does home mean to you? How are you at home in nature, in your body?

Home is where everything ends
Amrit Kallar

May 16, 2025

Home is where everything ends and comes to a final halt. If there’s an urge to be or to do, it’s not home. Home is stillness, home is nothingness. Everything else is just a frame in a long shutter feed that keeps the show going.

Home is a safe place
Charlene Cebell
May 17, 2025

Home is a safe place where I am unconditionally loved. Home is where I find my inner self to talk with. My home is in nature on 1.5 acres. It welcomes birds, coyotes, bobcats, and other creatures.

Home is within us
Samantha Knowlton
May 17, 2025

Home is within us. We take her with us wherever we go. And yet still we manage to misplace her. Or do we misplace ourselves and she rests within, waiting for us to find our way back.
