Now retired, Michael was a nonprofit professional with 40 years building, managing, and fundraising for nonprofits. As a development officer and consultant, Michael had experience implementing every aspect of nonprofit resource development. His expertise, and passion, was generating resources for programs for people experiencing serious mental illness, homelessness, and addiction. Upon retirement, Michael decided
to commit time to his second passion, conservation, through volunteering for programs that promote conservation learning and activism. Working and teaching at Antioch University New England, gave Michael a theoretical context for his love of the
environment, engendered from many years spent exploring the wilds. It was at Antioch that Michael first encountered the writings of Aldo Leopold and hopes that involvement with the Leopold Writing Program will bring conservation understanding and activism to future generations.
