My nervous system can’t handle a daily invention; I thrive in routine and take great pleasure in the conveniences that surround me to lessen the workload of living. I thrive in routine. It’s noticing the little things that thrill and sustain me. If I had to invent myself daily or invent some aspect of my life daily to thrive through it, I’d collapse in exhaustion. God bless the inventions that have sustained me; in particular, audiobooks, online books, hard cover books, libraries, book clubs, book discussions, and the potential for me to write daily and empty the busyness that can’t render traffic jambs in my head.

Every morning I write "this will be my peaceful day "on a sheet of paper and then I say it out loud. This is followed by a mediation and prayer and reading one poem.
