BARRY LOPEZ is the author of 14 works of fiction and nonfiction, and he has traveled through more than 80 countries in the course of his work. His books include Of Wolves and Men, a finalist for the National Book Award, and Arctic Dreams, a National Book Award winner. He is also the author of Crow and Weasel, an allegory set in myth time and a New York Times bestseller. Among his short story collections are Light Action in the Caribbean and Resistance. He is the recipient of numerous literary and cultural honors, including Guggenheim, Lannan, and National Science Foundation fellowships, and awards from the Association of American Geographers, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, The New York Public Library, and the Explorers Club.
